WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Trump announced a $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for voter fraud.
  • The offer covers alleged wrongdoing connected to previous elections and the upcoming 2026 midterm elections.
  • Trump reiterated the proposal before boarding Air Force One for a campaign trip to Mississippi.
  • The election reward follows a separate $25 million program targeting suspected fraud involving federal taxpayer dollars.

President Donald Trump announced Monday that Americans who help expose voter fraud could receive a $1 million reward, putting a substantial financial incentive behind his administration’s push to identify election crimes before the 2026 midterm elections.

The reward would be available when information leads to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for fraudulent voting activity. According to Trump’s announcement, the offer covers wrongdoing connected to both previous elections and the approaching midterms.

Trump unveiled the proposal Monday afternoon in a Truth Social post. He made clear that payment would be conditioned on a successful criminal prosecution, not merely an allegation or the submission of a tip.

“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud!”

“Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

Trump later repeated the proposal while speaking with reporters before boarding Air Force One for a campaign trip to Mississippi. He was scheduled to rally Republican voters there ahead of the November 3 elections.

“I’m also going to be issuing a $1 million bonus or reward, or whatever you want to call it, for anybody that reports voter fraud, leading to the arrest and conviction of somebody,” Trump told reporters.

The announcement arrived eight days before the midterm elections, which will determine control of the House and Senate. Republicans are seeking to maintain their congressional majorities as Democrats try to regain power during the second half of Trump’s presidency.

Trump has repeatedly argued that stronger safeguards are needed to protect the voting process. His election integrity campaign has particularly focused on concerns surrounding mail ballots and allegations of illegal voting.

The million-dollar offer follows another fraud-focused initiative announced by the Trump administration less than a week earlier. That separate effort targeted suspected fraud involving federal taxpayer dollars rather than fraudulent voting activity.

On October 20, Trump and Vice President JD Vance introduced the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program. The $25 million initiative was designed to encourage Americans to report suspected fraud involving money collected from federal taxpayers.

Under that program, the Justice Department outlined rewards ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 for qualifying tips. Trump also discussed the possibility of larger payments tied to the amount of fraud uncovered through information provided by whistleblowers.

The administration additionally recognized conservative investigative journalist Nick Shirley for his work examining alleged misuse of taxpayer-funded programs in Minnesota.

The new election reward differs from the earlier whistleblower program in both its target and payment conditions. It specifically focuses on voter fraud and requires that information lead to an arrest and conviction before the promised $1 million is paid.

Trump’s wording placed the same arrest and conviction requirement on reports involving past elections and the upcoming 2026 midterms. The announcement therefore reaches beyond the immediate November 3 contest while keeping the payout tied to a criminal case.

The timing adds another major election integrity proposal to the closing stretch of the midterm campaign. Control of Congress is at stake, with Republicans defending their House and Senate majorities while Democrats seek to take power.

For Americans with information about fraudulent voting, Trump has now placed a potentially enormous reward on the table. His announcement also signals that allegations of voter fraud will remain a central focus for the administration as voters approach the polls.
