Federal agents searched the residence of Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota on Monday regarding allegations that she falsified her application to become a United States citizen. The search immediately triggered outrage from figures on the Left, as reported by Red State.
That outrage comes after Biden-era Attorney General Merrick Garland sent heavily armed FBI agents to President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in 2022. That search was connected to the classified documents investigation.

The alleged immigration fraud is not the only matter creating problems for Omar. United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro confirmed Wednesday that the Department of Justice is investigating the congresswoman over her financial reporting.
The financial questions center on a remarkable change in Omar’s reported household assets. In May 2025, she listed those assets as being worth roughly $6 million to $30 million.
Then came a dramatically different amended report in March 2026. Omar reduced the reported value of her and her husband’s assets to a range of $18,004 to $95,000.
The amended filing also listed the businesses as having no net value after liabilities. Omar blamed the extraordinary discrepancy on an accounting mistake, which would certainly qualify as one enormous bookkeeping blunder.
Reporters naturally asked Omar about the massive shift in the numbers. She responded in her characteristically gracious fashion, “I think you’re stupid for asking me anything,” before adding, “I don't have to tell you Jack s***.”
Trump weighed in Wednesday and blasted Omar over the suspicious inaccuracies. He openly questioned whether the initial figure might have been accurate and whether the later amendment was designed to disavow it.
“Could it be that her highly paid accountant actually reported the money that was stolen from her fraudulent activities in Minnesota? Do you think the accountant actually gave the right number the first time, 30 Million Dollars, and then she was forced to disavow it because she never would have been able to report where that much money came from?”
Trump also raised questions about how Omar and her husband could afford their apparent lifestyle if they were not worth a significant amount. His remarks focused on their house, cars and property in Washington, D.C.
“Where did her house come from, where did her cars come from, and what about her lovely place in Washington, D.C.? I didn’t know that Congressmen and women made that kind of money, but I do know her husband, according to information and belief, makes almost nothing, so it couldn’t have come from him.”

Pirro addressed the financial reporting investigation Wednesday during an appearance on Fox News. Anchor John Roberts noted the striking appearance and disappearance of the reported millions while asking about the status of the matter.
Roberts said, “She was given a pass by the House Ethics [Committee], but somehow, $30 million… $30 million magically appeared, then it magically disappeared.”
Pirro confirmed that the financial issue is under investigation and made clear that the House’s handling of the matter would not determine her office’s response.
“Well, I can tell you that is the subject of an investigation as well, and it doesn't matter — it doesn't matter what the House does. It doesn't matter, you know, what this agency or that does.”
Pirro then explained how her office intends to approach the investigation. “We are looking at the facts, based upon the facts; we'll follow them wherever they take us.”
Roberts followed up by asking whether Pirro’s office was conducting the investigation. Pirro replied simply, “Yep.”

Omar is now confronting scrutiny involving both the search of her residence and the Department of Justice investigation into her financial reporting. With millions appearing in one filing and disappearing in another, the accounting explanation is getting a serious federal review.
