“Breaking Bad” actor RJ Mitte died Monday in Texas at age 34. A county official confirmed the actor’s death to the outlet, and Mitte’s representatives also confirmed that he had died.

Trending Politics News reported that Mitte died by suicide. Law enforcement told the outlet that the investigation into his death remained ongoing, leaving authorities continuing their work after the sudden death of the television actor and disability advocate.

The news brought an abrupt end to a life that had recently entered a major personal chapter.

In October 2025, Mitte announced that he was engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Kennedy Suarez.

Mitte spoke to People about the engagement and shared his excitement over the future that he and Suarez were preparing to build together.

His comments focused on their partnership, the life they planned to share, and the adventures he hoped would follow.

“I’m thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we’re doing,” Mitte told the magazine.

“Kennedy is my everything, and I can’t wait to officially start our life together and see what adventures life takes us on next.”

Those remarks came only months before TMZ reported his death in Texas. The engagement announcement had presented a hopeful glimpse of Mitte’s plans with Suarez as the couple looked toward officially beginning their life together.

Mitte was best known to audiences for portraying Walter White Jr. on AMC’s “Breaking Bad.” The character was the son of Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, and Skyler White, played by Anna Gunn.

His role placed him alongside Cranston and Gunn in the series. Through Walter White Jr., Mitte became familiar to viewers of the AMC program and established the performance for which he became widely known.

Mitte’s work was not limited to acting in Hollywood. He also devoted time to advocating for greater opportunities for performers with disabilities, making that effort an important part of his work beyond television.

The actor had cerebral palsy and used his public position to support greater inclusion for performers with disabilities.

His advocacy centered on expanding opportunities within an industry where he had built his own career as an actor.

Mitte served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy. He also held an ambassador role with Shriners Children’s, extending his involvement with organizations connected to people with disabilities and children receiving support.

His charitable involvement also included serving as president of The Mitte Foundation.

In that position, he supported charitable efforts and community programs, adding organizational leadership to his acting and advocacy work.

Together, his television career and advocacy placed him in several prominent roles. He was known as a cast member of “Breaking Bad,” an ambassador for two organizations, and the president of a foundation supporting charitable and community efforts.

The report of his death arrived after the personal milestone he announced in October 2025. At that time, Mitte’s statements to People emphasized his love for Suarez and his anticipation of the life they intended to begin together.

Authorities had not completed their investigation when law enforcement spoke with TMZ. The outlet’s account identified Texas as the location of his death and Monday as the day he died, while confirmation came from both a county official and his representatives.

Mitte was 34. His work connected his recognizable role as Walter White Jr. with sustained advocacy for performers with disabilities, along with service to United Cerebral Palsy, Shriners Children’s, and The Mitte Foundation.
